audio through hdmi to a monitor

do any monitors accept audio through the hdmi plug so it comes through a soundbar thingie or even an output on the monitor
specifically does the Benq fp241 monitor do this ?

edit - or the new hazro hz24Wi, as I believe this has an HDMI input but the hz24W did not

Yes the Hazro does, you have a 3.5mm audio out socket so audio channel is passed through that to external speakers (3.5mm connector) or to an amplifier via a 3.5mm to RCA cable.

It's stereo only mind but if you want 5.1 audio I guess you could connect your optical cable to amp directly from the source

I don't remember the BenQ having a audio out socket but I "think" it might.
