Audio & Video skipping

I've come accross a problem on my PC.

The audio and video is skipping about every minute or so, only for a short time (about 1/4 a second). At the same time, you can see a small spike on the CPU graph in taskman. It only spiked upto about 30-40% max.

I've tried to keep an eye on active processes, and nothing appears to use more cpu time at the same time - but then again by the time it's updated the problem has come and gone.

It possibly also happens in game, but it's hard to distunguish if it does.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? I think it's either audio/chipset driver related (Gigabyte nf4 board), or some background task or other?

I'm off to try other drivers now, but any ideas you folks have would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Right, thats audio and nforce drivers uninstalled/reinstalled - and the problem is still the same.

I've also discovered another problem whereby, after I boot up into windows typing on the screen takes a long time to catch up with my keysrokes. Although I don't know if it's related or not :/

Any ideas?
