Not sure where to post this query so general seemed best.

Purchased said item, installed driver from CD + it's media player and it just never finds a signal. No wall aerial at the moment so I connected an RGTech Monarch 50 indoor aerial and still get 0 signal. I was expecting some form of reception, but you get nothing. I'm convinced it's driver related and don't think the supplied set are functioning as they should. Only one other set available at their site and they continuously fail to install (fatal error or install was interrupted).

Is there anyone else out there using this device have any ideas on how to get it going? I've been at this all day with no luck. Win 7 system btw.

Thanks.

I'm assuming you're trying the right channels? That is, 474Mhz, 482MHz, 490, etc?

Or does it do a full frequency sweep? Most TV tuners are programmed to do all the channels from 21 to whatever is at the top of their range. Not sure it's the same for other bits of the world.

Yeah, used Sichbo and tried tuning using the whole band. Nothing. I was hoping there would be a better driver out there or a tip to get it going, but I've come up short. I even opened the dongle and checked the solder points and it's all fine. It just feels like there's something missing on the software section like a lack of communication?

Emailed their customer service in regards to the failing drivers and asked for help to which they replied with a youtube video of a dummies basic install...

I wonder if any generic tools can do it. I'd be looking at what protocol/API it uses for an open source option. But then I do this at work, it's kind of annoying to buy a consumer product and have it not work. I would bounce back to the supplier/manufacturer and ask for better assistance.

Most of the homebrew on this seems Linux-based and there's just not a lot out there for the Windows user... I have replied to them (manufactuer), but don't hold much hope.

"Just to ensure the driver and software are installed correctly. To get best signal, please use a rooftop aerial to scan channels.
Kind regards,"

Aye, think this is just going in the bin at this stage to be honest...

I have the same unit, and the bundled software was shockingly bad!!! I switched over to Mediaportal (V1, didn't like V2) and a channel scan (UK, North-East) got me around 130ish channels when the August software found 0. Might be worth a try? MP is a bit tricky to set up initially, but their website does a good job of explaining most things :)

Edit: this is with an external, roof mounted aerial, the supplied one was naff and got binned...

You on Windows? Did you use the default driver from the CD or something else? Did your drivers also install to a bizarre "my company name" folder?

Using Media Portal I get nothing...

From memory, I got the drivers from their website directly (No CD drive) and had little issue. I'm running windows 10 x64, 1803 build with all current updates, and (again) from memory it's MP 1.19 I use.

I did recently have a similar, though not as severe, scan issue as the one you show which I was convinced was aerial related though my local installer doubted my diagnosis and advised it would be water in a cable somewhere. I eventually got him to attend, and the connection within the aerial was almost completely rotten away, as soon as this was repaired I got everything back. The symptoms were poor results from channel scans, though it did sometimes get some of the frequencies the signal strength was terrible yet the house TV's were largely unnaffected, guessing these things must have quite low gain :(

Good luck!

Edit: try setting the scan to focus on your local transmitter only, in case you're missing the local frequencies, for example mine is Pontop Pike (Newcastle/Northumberland area)

I was about to say I had a lot of signal issues with this, but then i would be mistaken!

It was the WinTV-QuadHD Hauppauge card that gave me awful signal, i never had an issue with the T210. I mainly use a TBS DVB-S2 card.
