360 gets a massive rise in sales and Wii well, stays on top. PS3, ahem, next question.

A big month for software and good to see Bioshock and Metroid Prime do so well though Blue Dragon, Lair and Warhawk are conspicous by their absence (bad numbers for BD though it's really just launch numbers for Lair).

PS3 Lair = 46.5K
Warhawk w/headset= 58.6K
Blue Dragon = 53.6K

And what's that? An Xbox game in the top 20? Madden (Xbox) beating Madden (Wii), Madness!

for one month - a lot of prior months (I seem to recall, but maybe wrongly) they have been a lot closer

Dont dispute the PS3 needs to sell a lot more though

Not surprising the 360 had a big sales boost over last month (was only like 20k more than the PS3) with games like Bioshock and the better version of Madden out. Still the PS3 has nearly doubled it sales from earlier in the summer. Sony sold 480K Consoles this month and I think the game sales was up across the board. Just shows the strength of the Wii even tough in Japan they've taken a dive recently, like Inoshishi said in Japan the PS3 outsells the 360 10:1 at present and in Europe its much closer sales, just to think A console with no games :rolleyes:

is still selling quite well I wonder how well it would do if it had games LOL.

Other than last month which saw the PS3 double its sales (due to $100 price cut) it's always been pretty much 2:1.

Sony really need to come up with something. At it's current rate it's selling for August at the same rate the Xbox/Dreamcast did (130k consoles).

The sales are so much smaller across the board that the Japanese sales are almost irrelevant,

Well the figures I posted were for the week of September 3rd to the 9th. Where as the OP figures were for August.

So if you take that into account, the JPN sales in general are lower than the USA sales but not by huge ammounts.
