Aurora styled background

Does any of the more graphical gurus here have any step-by-steps on how to create those 'aurora' styled backgrounds?

I have Photoshop CS here at work and can 'use it' but by no means an expert.

Want to create a handful for my site, in a wide-landscape format.

Have looked for a few tutorials but can't see anything specific.

Or if someone is feeling generous.............
