wow, i didn't know you could see it in Scotland, i saw it in Iceland but that purple haze wasn't there?
Maybe something to do with the atmo around there?

Its extremely rare that you see it in Scotland, it would take a very large solar flare/eruption for it to be visible. I may be wrong, but I think the purple and red colours do depend on the atmosphere, or maybe its due to how strong the aurora is.
I really, really want to see the aurora, I have literally dreamt about it in the past.

Excellent video... however I am in Scotland and lucky enough to see the Aurora quite often since I started looking for it last year
