Hi,

Off to Australia soon for nearly 3 weeks.

Starting off in Sydney airport I will travel to blue mountains for 2 nights.

From there will be staying a in Davistown for 4-5 nights.

Places I am hoping to stop off at are;
Port Macquarie
Coffs Harbour,
Byron
Surfer’s Paradise
Brisbane
Noosa
Rainbow Beach
Sydney 3-4 nights

I am intending to take my EOS 7D, 24-105L IS USM, 70-300L IS USM, speedlite EX430 MkII, SONY NEX 5R ( for videoing and mounting in the hire car ) and I will buy a GoPro Hero 4 Black to mount to bonnet of car, surf boards, quad bikes, boats etc.

Has any one been to the above and what I can use the GoPro on. I really do want to capture the adventure of Australia and all the promo GpPro video clips I watched make me believe GoPro was design for life down under !

Apart from the standard mount in the box for the GoPro what else would be a good addition to have. I was wondering if I should get a selfie stick for the GpPro and do some commentary videos similar. Maybe similar to togs explaining their set on shoots.
Not really sure at the moment how to approach using the it as I will be new to the whole GoPro experience !

Nay suggestions please on what to see in the above places and on the GoPro ?

Many thanks :)

Wider lens for the 7d would be much higher on my list than a go pro to take hours of super dull videos from the front of your car!

Tripod!

I did a similar trip in August (although we went south of Syndey not north).

You can see some of my highlights in this thread.

I'd also recommend an ND and CP filter, and echo a1ex's comments about a super-wide angle lens.

Can't comment on the GoPro I'm afraid.

Mate of mine has a wide angle canon fit lens which I could borrow.

The GoPro is for the water excursions as some places on my route should be suitable for snorkelling.

Still undecided if I should take my 70-300 !

Tripod & Gorrilla pod will be in my bag.
