I imagine I'm not the only person in the world who has a few Linux boxes at their work sites to run whatever minor services you can (for political reasons) and forget about them. What I'm looking into is using AD as a backend to authenticate myself and the other administrators.

What sort of options do I have? Is there a preferred method? Looking at the obvious options available to me (LDAP, Kerberos and winbind), the most commonly suggested method is winbind.

i've done it with winbind, google for some tutorials. and theres a pam module for makeing homedirs that works ok ish!
good luck!
