Authentication when trying to access my forum page

Hi guys,

Looking for some advice.

I have a ubuntu server running a FTP server and teamspeak etc. I have then put some forum software on there but its asking me for my username and password all the time. Once i enter this, the forums load but obviously i dont want this to happen.

Any ideas? Totally new to ubuntu especially via ssh so i guess i have missed something simple

Are you trying to view your forum with a web browser?

I've never used Ubuntu, but it sounds as though you have a folder permissions issue. You should check your default settings for the folders you are serving files from perhaps???

Just a wild guess but I thought I'd say it anyway ...

"Remembering" you are logged in is usually a cookie on the client side. Have you tried different browsers ? It could be a security setting on the browser rather than a forum configuration problem.
