don't know about the auto box but I do like the cars. How far is the charger from being road worthy? Seems like ages since we've seen any new pics but maybe i missed them?

A while yet, posted a thread in august I think it was. Haven't done much since then.

Yeh that's the last time I didn't anything substantial.. I really need a kick up the ass, Soon be march and nicer weather.

Wahoo £352 for insurance though bell, unless anyone says the auto boxes are crap I'm going to put a bid on it. tomorrow evening.

Does this look the right ride height?

Just been looking though ebay at other pics, all seem to ride relatively high and a few have what appear to be those wheels. Any idea what size the wheels are meant to be so I can fire the seller a question.

The Auto-box on the Galant is OK but only if you get the 2.0.

Don't be tempted by the 2.5 as it's the same box and it can't cope. My mate had one and it ate gearboxes for breakfast and was a common complaint with the 2.5 apparantly.

Will be similar to the FTO auto box, which is better in the 5 gear form so if thats 97 onwords assuming a 5 gear will be in the Galant. Similar wheels from the FTO too by the looks of things, and the ride heighton the FTO is high to start with so looks about right for the same age Galant.

I've always heard that the Auto boxes are pretty weak on these cars, they are meant to be quite nice to drive with a decent non mechanical kickdown, but apparently they can fail very suddenly without having done that many miles. Still for the amount of money they cost, if the auto box does fail you can just buy a new car.

The auto box will be fine on the 2.0

The 2.5's are reliable too, the odd few have failed, but not thaaat many. The INVECS I was used on the 2.5's but i think its a normal auto on the 2.0 but i might be wrong. Might be a 4 speed INVECS I as well.

Great car, but some springs will bring the car back to earth. All non vr4 models are very high.

All INVECS boxes need good oil, something like Amsoils autobox fluid. It needs cared for as you would expect.

No, looks like you could smuggle polish immigrants.

They also dont look like the standard sized wheels
Techincally you don't need to smuggle polish immigrants, they can come here as they please :D

I wouldnt personally buy an auto without testing it though... at least ask if its smooth and shifts without jerking or taking too long.

Keep that in mind.
