Auto Dead Locking - Which Cars Have It?

Guys,

Did a search for this, couldn't find anything similar.

Basically, when I pull away in my 03' Clio, when the car is traveling above 4mph I think it is, the central locking automatically engages and the doors cannot be opened from the outside, but myself and my passenger are able to open either door which cancels the locking.
I have a button on my dash, like many Renaults that allow me to turn it on or off.

I don't 100% know the technical term for this - Auto dead lock/locking I'm going to hazard a guess at?...

My question is which manufacturers/models other than most Renaults have this as standard?
Is it only common or available in 3 door cars?

It's been most handy on 2 memorable occasions where it's saved me from a possibly confrontational scenario, wouldn't mind it in my next car too.

Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks,

Pete.

My A3 does it (at 10mph). It unlocks when you use an interior door handle or take the key out of the ignition.

BTW, it's not dead-locking, that's when the interior handles don't work either, which they obviously do in this case.

Most modern cars have the ability to have it set I believe, renault call it R.A.I.D. (renault anti-intruder device) btw.

Loads of cars have it. It's an option on the E39 5 Series and E46 3 Series - you can chose whether to have it on or off and it can be set for you by your dealer at any time.

my mates classic impreza does it, but I think it has one of those toad alarms so maybe that does it.
Nothing new though, many years ago my dad had a 1985 Mazda 929 which did it.

My Celica GT-Four does it as well, but I'm pretty sure it's the Toad system that's doing it.

Still, I could very well be wrong.

It also engages even if I'm not moving.

Very helpful, thanks guys :)

Probably easier to list the cars that don't have it then ;) ?
So to sum up, most cars will have it, and even if they don't, inquire with a dealer about having it activated?
