auto or remote start up & shut down.

Hi guys,

Got a couple of PC's in the house one in the living room & one in a kids room planning to get one in other kids room soon. all using windows 7.

I want to be able to control when the kids use the PC's

Example:

Stop the PC booting up in a morning before school but let it come on weekend mornings & make it auto shut down at a certain time in the late evening if its not been already switched off.

Is there any software I can use for this?
Would I be able to control it be from the main PC in the living room or would it have to be run from each PC.

I've never actually used it but IIRC the built-in parental controls in W7 can control the times certain accounts on each PC can log in. It can probably be deployed to all computers from a group policy or something but I don't know about that.

As for automatically shutting down, instead of doing that with separate software you could just make it sleep after a specified time period of inactivity. Just look in Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change When the Computer Sleeps.
