Hi, i got a 5870 the otehrday and ALL is fine! Except when i auto overclock the GPU through CCC the top of the screen flickers (around 2-3mm) it only flickers when ever u open a window, hover over a flash button, scroll up and down etc. Once i turn off the Overdrive settings it works fine! Does any one know anything else ican try? (i want it OC'ed as i want the best from it :D ) Any ideas? ive just upgraded to 10.01 drivers but still no luck.

Most people document these issues if they are running more than one monitor, which applied to me.

The issue seems to be when you overclock, it set's the clocks at 157mhz and 300mhz in 2d instead of 400mhz and 1200mhz.

The solution 'may' be a bit daunting for you.
Tonight after the latest cat's didn't solve the issue, I download the latest Amd Bios from techpowerup and customised it using Radion Bios editor to make the minimum clocks in 2d mode to be 400 & 1200mhz I was then also able to unlock the overclock limits to whatever I wanted.

tbh Im just glad it means theres nothign wrong with the card it self -_- lol i can put up with it til they do fix it with an update :D im only running one monitor :( i tryed lowering them by 30 but nothing happend :( was just the same :'(

Just managed to flash my 5870 to 157mhz GPU and 1200mhz Vram @0.95v, and there doesn't seem to be any sign of flicker! Must be the 300mhz Vram that's causing the issues.

Card runs a bit cooler in 2d now.
