I’m just wondering if there is any software that can automatically shut down a computer system. I’m just curious as I’m sitting here re downloading my files for the complete package for half life 2 , if I can set a program to shut it down after 5 hours or something after the downloading has been finished?

It's a free set of command line utils. I use it with MBM as the system shutdown util if fans or temps violate limits. It will shutdown the comp regardless of whether another running app wants to save an unsaved file, etc (some utils would be stopped by that from shutting down). Don't remember if there is an option to make it respect shutdown dialogs or not.
and you can set the delay before shutdown.

You can just set task scheduler to run shutdown -s -f -t 60 at like 4am or something.
