Hi guys, my mate runs AutoCad200x and wants to start PDF'ing his files when he has created them. He runs a small business so will need commercial software to do this.

What is the cheapest/optimal package for this guy so that he can send his drawings to "Print to PDF" etc.

any help appreciated

Have you ever used 995 with AutoCAD? Ok its free but you recover the cost of Scansoft or Cute with the time saved not having to confirm every single setting each time you want to print at A1/A0.

Depends how much PDF'ing he's got to do. If its only a one off try 995 or PDFCreator. If its going to be a regular thing try Cute or Scansoft PDF (we use that at work, its not perfect but its pretty good).

There's no direct "Print to PDF" (in the same way as word etc.) because of the way AutoCAD works but you can plot to a PDF printer with pre-configured settings for standard paper sizes, pen settings blah blah blah

/me shuffles off dreading the drawing issue at the end of the week......600+ pdfs here we come :(

He won't go far wrong with CutePDF. I use it to print out of ProDesktop for Electronic Products Casing for my coursework.
