You don't always use all the wires available depending on how the remote interface works with your head unit. You might only have one wire from the steering controls side connecting when there are several available...if you have any.

You're going to need to read the manual though or figure it out via the blocks from the back of your existing head unit

Edit - to be more clear you won't be splicing any of your cars existing connectiins, you'll be either completing the loop with the wire that goes just out of shot in the first picture and either just the spare from the second or with the jack depending what your head unit accepts
