Just got a new HP laptop from work - on my old Toshiba laptop there was a program built in that automactically changed my profile when I plugged a network cable in or when I went wireless but this doesn't seem to be the case on the new HP.
What I want to do is; when i plug in a network cable at the office the LAN settings remain set with the proxy settings etc but when I go wireless at home I want the laptop to automactically realise that there are no proxy settings for my home network and adjust accordingly.
Am I missing something on the laptop or is there a program that you recommend?

NAh -don't work as I have to keep unchecking the proxy box to get internet access.

There is an option in internet explorer and other browsers that enables you to enter an automatic configuation script. It basically detects whether you are going through a proxy or not. We have it in place for our users.
When you launch internet explorer it will search for the proxy, if it's not found it will drop back onto a 'normal' connection so to speak.

Your IT team might be able to help.
