Ok basically I need a script/workflow/ANYTHING to help me update 4000 images with watermarked and high res versions using the originals to be re-uploaded to the gallery.

So hers goes:

Gallery images:
/foldera/normal_IMG_0001.jpg
/foldera/normal_IMG_0002.jpg
/foldera/normal_IMG_0003.jpg
/foldera/normal_IMG_0004.jpg
etc

Original is in:
/folderb/IMG_0001.CR2 (RAW image)
/folderb/IMG_0002.CR2 (RAW image)
/folderb/IMG_0003.JPG
/folderb/IMG_0004.JPG

So the script would be given the folder with the gallery images. Then it needs to go find the images original in folder b, then it has to my already running workflow script to watermark/size/save for web them.

Any ideas? :)

Cheers CR

Click the Actions tab, (alt + F9), create a new action, record > do your stuff > save it.

Then File > Automate > Batch.

Yep, actions is the way forward. With batching as Justin mentioned, you just pick your source folder, choose a destination folder, select the right action, and go off out for a bit. Easy peasy :)

I dont see what your getting at?

Make it more clear:

Images that need to be replaced:
/foldera/IMG_1001-01.jpg
/foldera/IMG_1005-01.jpg
/foldera/normal_IMG_1001-01.jpg
/foldera/normal_IMG_1005-01.jpg
/foldera/thumb_IMG_1001-01.jpg
/foldera/thumb_IMG_1005-01.jpg

Originals of foldera are in folderb

/folderb/IMG_1001.CR2
/folderb/IMG_1002.CR2
/folderb/IMG_1003.CR2
/folderb/IMG_1004.CR2
/folderb/IMG_1005.CR2

So the script has to use "IMG_1001-01.jpg", then search for its original "IMG_1001" in folderb, then it has to run a workflow that I already have that works perfectly to replace the "IMG_1001-01.jpg", "normal_IMG_1001-01.jpg" and "thumb_IMG_1001-01.jpg" in foldera.

Recording my actions doesn't work :(

Any ideas or am I destined to manual labour to replace them all?

Well, a PS action could create your thumbnails and high-res jpegs from the cr2 originals.

However, I take it you don't want this to be done for all of the cr2 originals?

If that's the case, then you'll need to filter the folder of originals first, unless somebody knows of a clever way of using Smart Folders to match the source files to the old jpegs?

If I was in your shoes I would simply ditch Folder A altogether, then create an action to take an original from Folder B, save it as a full size jpeg in a new folder, then resize it, watermark it, and save it in another new folder, then move onto the next one.

That would leave you with three folders of images - a folder full of the original RAWs, a folder of full size JPEGs, and a folder full of reduced size, watermarked JPEGS.

I may be confused in what your end aim is, it's quite hard to gather exactly what you're after doing.
