Automated remote backup systems

I'm looking to implement an automated remote backup system.

The automated stuff I can handle, it's the hardware/remote stuff I'm not too hot on.

Lots of experienced people on here so was after some advice really. A basic server spec, what kind of broadband is required and so on.

The problem is that I'm looking to back up several sites, and some backups will be big, so it can't really all be done over night, but on a scheduled basis.

I'm in the same boat as you, currently reviewing our backup strategy. we have servers in colo on 2 different sites and need somthing to centralise it all, and make it easier to manage.

probably looking into some disk to disk to tape solutions

The only caveat for me is that is has to be from Dell, as we have a hardware contract with them.

Just concerned that it limits the options rather.
