Automated road Bollards

Always good to watch, would be interesting to find out how these work, as the first bus took an age to drive over the bollard, yet once it was clear, the bollard came up.

Does anyone know how they detect when the vehicle has passed over?

Couple centuries old but a gem. Obviously though the bollards were only recently installed (at the time of the video).

hehe - always good to see ignorant people get their just desserts.

The first bus driver was talking to someone on the pavement or the passenger leaving the bus.

Vehicles have radio tags or transponders fitted which activate the bollards as they approach.

I think the first car could have made it past if it had kept just inches from the rear of the bus.

No, you're not alone. I LMFAO at them personally.
Knobhead in the people carrier trying it with his child in the back of the car deserves to have his license and genitals torn up IMO.

Not at all mate, just wondering how the system knew the bus had cleared the bollard, so that it didn't catch the rear bumper.
