Done a complete reformat/XPPro reinstall, now put Outlook on.

When I open Outlook it doesn't automatically send/receive. I've had this in the past on a new install but for the life of me can't remember how to get it working automatically again!

Anyone know how please?

You haven't mentioned which version of Outlook.
Under Outlook 2003 you set this up under:

Tools>Options
"Mail Setup" Tab
Check the box "Send Immediately when connected" checkbox.
Now click the Send/Recieve button next to that checkbox to fine-tune the settings.

Tools
Send/Receive
Send/Receive Settings
Define Send/Receive Groups

If you change the Schedule an automatic send/receive every x minutes then it'll do it every time. Not exactly what you want but it may help?

Thanks, done that too. No joy :(

I've had this before on a clean install where it won't auto-send/receive, and sorted it. Just can't remember how!

Found a better one...

Click on:

Tools
Options
Click on Mail Setup tab
Click Send Immediately When Connected (and then apply then okay)

I believe that will do a send and recieve when online.

Sorted!

Set it to "use Internet Explorer or 3rd party dialer."

For some reason, even though I've got a LAN and it was set up to "connect via LAN" changing it to use IE's setting works

Anyhoos, thanks fo rthe help guys.
