Massachusetts Institute of Technology claim to have developed an algorithm to automatically remove reflections from images taken through windows.

Anyone who has taken photos from the Shard would welcome such a program!

Be interesting to see (a) How well it works in the real world, and (b) Whether it is taken up commercially.

As with most of these automated solutions, they present a nice heavily controlled case in a youtube video, which looks great, then you get to test it in the real world and it doesn't really stand up to any sort of scrutiny. Great tech to integrate into instagram or similar, but not likely used professionally. Always exceptions though I guess.

Today I have had a mare :(

Was at the zoo and it was packed. By absolute luck after queuing to see the lion with my son the male moved into a spot that couldn't have been better. With the queues and my son I had limited time and with a quick glance of my screen got about 20 shots I really really liked the look of.

Came home loaded them up and they are ruined by reflection, ever so slight killing the sharpness of the photos.

Gutted.
