Automator: Can you move files based on metadata?

I am trying to do a massive task of organising my cluttered photo folder into folders based on metadata.

Whatever the date captured is I want those photos into an album with the file name of its date captured and then I'll add a description to the end of it.

Is it possible to at least move files into folders with some automator action. I've never used him before so completely new to it.

AutomatorExifMover is an action for Automator that can use various metadata (exif, id3 tags etc) as criteria, there's a how-to here: http://6v8.gamboni.org/Move-Rename-files-according-to.html

Ive just found an automator plugin called Metadata mover and it does exactly what I want! So happy!

Had just found it but yes exactly what I am after! Thats smart isn't it! Well impressed!

Its excellent! I use it to auto-sort my photos when I sync/copy them from memory cards, so similar to what you're doing I guess
