Autoplay stopped working

Over the last few days I've noticed that Vista has stopped autoplaying devices when I plug them in.

i.e. If I put in my USB drive or iPod it used to pop up asking me what to do, now it does nothing.

I've checked in the autoplay settings, and it is set up to ask me everytime etc.

Anyone encountered this before?

Nope, as I've always disabled autoplay

Only on XP and MS have a Tool to fix it.

Do you know if the tool works for Vista too?

click start, type

autoplay

click on it..

check it's enabled in the top tick box.

if it is, untick it, click save, then retick it

then 'reset all defaults'

Nope cause its never broke in Vista for me.
