Is anybody using AutoRoute 2010... Is it any good?
I have just downloaded the 60 day free trial. Ran the program and it tells me that my trial period has expired! Looks like my 60 day free trial lasted about zero seconds. Any answers to this problem... Please.

What does it do that google maps can't?

Serious question, last time I saw it was 10 years ago and all it did was draw a line on a map...

It is a 60 day free trial... I just thought I would download it to answer your question.
But it don't run so I am none the wiser...

I prefer MapPoint to autoroute, but yes the product is good.

I can't answer your question about the trial though as I have the full product through MSDN.

I used Autoroute for many years but now I'm a massive fan of Bing maps with an account (free).
The website has made my job more productive and easier.

Thanks Paradigm, - I downloaded the 60 day trial of MapPoint and that runs OK.
I will have a play and see what it is like... I need to record lots of accurate Lat/Long coordinates from map positions.

Thanks dmpoole, when I read your post I thought you worked for M$...
I have been looking at Bing maps and I too might become a fan.
I do like the 'Birdseye Views'

It isn't just the mapping but what you can also do with the maps eg

A list of pubs I gig at - http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=53.06551297543835~-2.1470117568969727&lvl=10&cid=6AFAC9A31684BE!283

A couple of runs I do - http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=53.01083374~-2.134166718&lvl=6&cid=6AFAC9A31684BE!532

Also imagine I have 75 Apprentices who I have to get out to around 120 work placements all over the City and they can't be further than 3 miles from their homes.
Using the mapping it is dead easy to work out - basically I can see the Apprentice (picture also) and then see all the placements around them.

I still cant get the AutoRoute 2010 60 day free trial to run....
It says that my trial period has expired!

I am trying to compare AutoRoute 2010 and MapPoint 2010 to see which one I will buy.
MapPoint 2010 60 day trial loads and runs fine but not AutoRoute 2010.
Does anybody know the answer or how I can talk to a real person at Microsoft UK.
Thanks, John

I use Bing maps in preference to google maps now, I tend to use the silverlight enabled site with the additional applications at maps.bing.com/explore

Nice smooth zooming and although mainly US based still, some of the apps are genuinely useful, well, to me anyway :)
