I don't know that much about car values, but it seems to me there are a load of cars on there that are being advertised for stupid prices...

eg: This one

What on earth is all that about? Is it about to explode, or has it been "borrowed without permission"/TWOC :p

That seller isn't a genuine seller - he/she is a scam artist.

That fake seller has numerous cars advertised on AT with exactly the same style of add - no telephone number, and the same "AT THE MOMENT MY PHONE IS NOT WORKING" phrase (has she not heard of a £10 PAYG mobile phone?), owned it for 5 months etc. They were supposedly selling a 2004 BMW 320d with 50k for £4,000 last month, then I saw another ad from them for a low mileage 2005 BMW 330d Coupe for £6000. They're not limited to BMWs either.

Not sure what they're trying to do - get your email, scam the gullible out of money, rob them, sell you a stolen car? Who knows? But its obviously a scam.

But AVOID!!!!!!!!

I would have thought typo, only the price is mentioned again in the comments. Super dodgy. Perhaps you go to view the thing then get bundled into the back of a van and get gang raped by a bunch of Nigerian scammers until you give them your bank details, card and PIN ;)

Looks like a scam, there's loads of them on AT and PH classifieds.

"OK Sir, if you can wire the monies for deposit, I will hold on to the car!" :D My mind is boggling as to what sort of scam it could be tbh. I'm very intrigued. Not intrigued enough to call them though.

It seems you can't get away from scammers these days :(

silly person turns up with cash, gets mugged.

Why dont the police to pose as a buyer then arrest them?
I don’t know what [TW]Fox is referring to, but yes, that would be a logical sting. But the rozzers have gotta be quick jumping them, before their lone colleague flashing the cash gets hit by a baseball bat.

It's the typical foreign shipping scam - car has been taken abroad, will be delivered, etc etc.

You see neither the car nor meet the person selling it at any point.
