his ad in autotrader has an email, as it was 1am when i saw the ad, i emailed him and got a reply this morning:

Hi there,
the Civic is still available for the price of £6800. The car is 100% working and great looking, no scratches, scuffs, dents or any kind of damage.
I have just moved to Greece because my wife is Greek and she got a very good job offer here. The car is here with us as well.
I am selling it because I cannot manage with the right-hand drive here. You should also know that it is still registered in the UK.
Please email me back soon and let me know if you are still interested in a transaction.
All the best
Robert

lol this is the second time this has happend to me, last time i saw a type R it was in Italy!

how does he get away with ripping pics from ebay af someone else's car and putting it in autotrader! 100% scam i take it yeh?

Scammier than scammy the scammaster scam, king of scams. :)

If you want to play, tell him your brother lives in Greece and is it ok for him to have a look at the car ;)

Yes I'm sure his wife got a good job in Greece. Such a thing does not exist :)

Also, if I was moving to Greece, what side the wheel is on would be my last worry - I would have understood if he said "I'm giving up driving, people drive like looneys over here" but saying he can't live with a RHD car? Sounds like dangly bits to me!!

Unlucky mate, and by emailing him you might have just signed yourself up on some spam lists as well. Lose lose situation :(

Scammer.
Ive come across 4 or 5 now :(

And one was from greece selling a BMW for almost the same reason that guy was selling that civic

hehe just got a reply from him:

Hello, if we come to an agreement the car will be delivered directly to your home address and the cost for that and for the insurance will be included in the initial sale price. The car will be shipped by truck and that will take about 6-7 days.
I suggest that we close this deal using the security provided by Triple Deal on such transactions. It is an international escrow service that works great, it is safe and really fast.
About the payment procedures I will notify Triple Deal and they will contact you shortly to let you know their terms.
Please get back to me as soon as possible and let me know if you agree with that or not.
All the best
Robert

I'd tell him you would rather fly over and deal directly with cash as you don't have a bank account as you don't trust them etc..
even if it's genuine, the car is so much cheaper than book it'd still be economical to fly over and check it out.

Ah that feeling; the price being so low its too good to be true, most of the time it is!!

lol finding a great job in Greece, haha yeah ok :P
