I'm about to stick my car up on autotrader. The web price is £15.99, the web + magazine price is £26.99. Do you guys recon its worth the extra money for the web and magazine or do most sales from autotrader come from the website? I'm fairly skint so I dont know if I should or not, I put it to the OCUK car sales team.

I would say that it probably is worth it, a lot of people dont bother with the internet at all. Almost everyone i know has always bought cars through the papers rather than online.

It's an extra £9, I'd do it, but more and more people are using the web now to buy cars, I found mine on Autotrader online - far easier than looking at a paper copy.

put my CTR on web only and sold it in 5 days.

Certainly much quicker than putting it on ebay (which i did twice). People on ebay just want something for nothing.

Ebay's useful as it advertises the car to a broad audience so you'll get more offers. It's pretty cheap as well.

Just sold my corsa this weekend after one week on Autotrader.co.uk web only. Sold it for £100 less than asking price. I was happy with the coverage the web gave it. Had 4 calls before a guy came to look and bought it there and then.

TBH if I had anything decent I wouldn't put it on ebay. My current car though has a few problems that if I was selling it tomorrow I wouldn't bother getting fixed (air-con, air bag etc) whereas I could list it with all its faults on ebay and say here it is bid accordingly.

As for autotrader you will get more interest by putting it in the mag too. I generally browse around the website but if I was seriously looking to buy I would get the mag aswell as checking the web.

I've never understood bothering with the mag if you can check online as it's far easier to find the models and specs I'm interested in.

Yeah, that's exactly what I think.

Maybe its just me then :o

When I was looking for my last car I used the autotrader mag as a central point to keep all my notes on what i've seen etc.

Plus its easier to read on the crapper :p

i would say the put it on the net. Ive bought a few cars from the web now. You can really refine your search for what you want without having to skip through loads of pages of adverts.
