Mods, if this counts as spam I do apologise, please delete the thread. I think it might be interesting for members though.

We just uploaded our review of the Auzentech Prelude and it came out ontop of the X-Fi Fatal1ty in some tests:

Prelude Review

I have the distinct feeling that this card will fly off the shelves… not only as it offers more connectivity, but because of the driver fiasco with Creative. Auzentech’s decision to make their own is a sound option and music to the ears of Creative haters, but EAX lovers

\o/

I gotcha :)

Any questions anyone has about the prelude, please ask and I will try and get them answeres. Imagine we are one of the few sites with one of these cards at the moment.

hmm. not sure what to make of it to be honest. a lot of that review seems to be based on assumption. creative pushed the launch of the prelude? why would they do that? auzentech will drop the creative drivers and use their own? do you have sources for these?

you mentioned a benefit of digital over analogue, but you didnt mention the cons of ddlive and dts encoding. you mentioned electro magnetic interference but its not an issue with digital coax. you didnt mention that ddlive/dts incurs a latency hit and a drop in sound quality over a decent analogue output.

you also said there's less bass roll off than the x-fi fatality? but your own testing actually shows the fatality to have a flatter response curve. perhaps its your system at fault and not the card?

they are all points i'd like to see addressed in that review:)

Have asked Auzentech about Creative pushing release, will update when I hear from them.

The other bits should be updated now, if not then soon. SorX is on the case :).

Sorry GreenLizard, which bit about Headphones?

Reality, thanks for the constructive criticism. Unfortunately we need the top banner above reviews as we don't have the funds of some of the larger sites and are therefore forced to use several adverts.

Update: Reality/Mark (I am assuming?), the issue you brought to our attention has now been fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
