Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1

I have one of these, it is vital to have a PCI-e with the P6T motherboard as a PCI card would block the graphics card cooling.
The card is pretty good - sound quality is great, but when there is no sound there is a small amount of pickup from the VelociRaptors, I have been getting good support from Auzentech on this issue and in the latest V1.0 release of the drivers the pickup is almost imperceptible. On the optical DTS link there is no perceptible pickup.
If you need a PCI-e card this one is very good, however if you can use a PCI slot I think I would have stuck with my Prelude 7.1.

I have a P6T, and I have my GFX card in the bottom, white PCI-E slot rather than the blue one... this gives me space for two PCI cards. Before you ask, I've testing GFX performance in the 'primary' blue PCI-E slot vs. the white PCI-E slot (typically only used with SLI), and there is no performance difference.

^Good lad, thanks for that info, I was about to start a thread on the matter. I hate the way slightly older motherboards bung their only PCI-e slot right up the top like that. :)

Even worse when they shove a heatsink blocking the ability too put a pciexpress soundcard on slot 1 !

Id love too have that 1st slot with the pciexpress soundcard and the rest of the board the chunky graphics card can take up the rest of the board and slots, hell just add one pciexpress slot for the soundcard and 1 or 2 for the graphics card:)
