AV amp bypass?

Do any amps come with a bypass mode so that when the amp is off the audio is still sent to the tv via the HDMI lead?

Im debating plugging the sky into the amp but the missus will only complain if she needs to turn the amp on to watch whatever crap it is she watches.

Yes, its a pretty common feature now. Usually called pass through. Allows you to watch Sky as if the Sky DVR was plugged direct into the TV.
