So having recently changed a load of stuff in my lounge and finally nestling all the cables under the floor and hidden, I have now come into another problem in that I can't hide all the cables due to a stupid HDMI switcher not fitting within my underfloor junction box, so because of this I've decided I need a new Amp :D Man Logic....

I currently run an old Onkyo 605, which I've had for probably 8 years, which to be honest has been bullet proof, but is obviously quite old.

Into this I run Sky HD, PS4 and currently an Amazon Fire TV, but contemplating changing this out due to the ongoing lack of direct support in Plex of DTS for mkvs (this is a separate issue)

I output all this to Audica CX System 3 5.1 and an LG 930V 55" OLED, so can only run 1080p, and I'm not too fussed on 4k in the near future. I mostly use the set up for TV shows, Blu Rays and Sport, rather than much music, but would ideally like to have a) multi outputs for rooms b) passive output when using said other rooms (mainly to plum sky around the house).

The only other real requirement is, I use a Harmony One, and like this remote, so want something with IR.

Budget is around £500 at most, but ideally want to spend a bit less than this if possible, so if people could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Don't know about the amp mate (my amp was purchased in the roman times) but I run plex through a roku and DTS works brilliantly as does Dolby digital. Definitely recommend one if you want to ditch the fire tv. The latest one is 4K as well.

Denon AVRX2300 is the cheapest Zone 2 passive output AV reciever (new) I'd spec you. Zone 2&3 passive are going to be £££'s more unless you compromise & bought a higher spec 2nd hand AV receiver.

For example, I picked up a 3 year old Denon AVRX 4000 from AV forums classifieds for under £300 earlier this year & that had Zone 2&3 passive outputs.

If I were to go second hand, is this a recommendation ( Iwas browsing AVforums earlier tbh, but not sure what to look for)

Cheers Jez, will take a look.

It is. I would avoid its predecessor (AVR3313) the chap I bought my 4000 from said it was a dog & sounded like one in comparison.

I wouldn't buy another Onkyo TBH after reading all the horror stories about them (HDMI failures & overheating in particular)

I'd recommend the Denon X2300 too. I was considering the X4200 (mainly because I need preouts) until I managed to slim down the number of sources I have, meaning I don't need more than 3 HDMI inputs, so I'm keeping my Onkyo for now.
