Av receiver looses htpc connection

Anyone got any ideas on this.

Tv is panny p50v20 I think. Connected to onkyo tx-sr578 by hdmi and then to htpc 685g chipsets by hdmi.

Occasionally the signal from the htpc is lost when not used for a bit or pethaps when the tv is switched off. Sorry the details are sketchy as it is not my kit and I am trying help a friend solve it

This could be to do with the Hot Plug detection and Screen Saver/Energy Saver settings.

If the HTPC is not sending a fresh Hot Plug signal when coming out of screen saver mode then the display won't know it is still connected.

Take a look at HDMIon, it is something I used to use, to get around these sort of issue's. Very easy to set up, I believe it is mentioned a few posts down in the comments.

After changing my AV amp or the move to Win7 things resolved themselves for me.
