Until now NZXT only had offerings for AIO in a 140mm form factor and multiples thereof. This limited the case choice for many users.
The new X31 offers not just a 120mm option, but an option that performs comparably to their 140mm offering as well as being quieter thanks to the new FX120 V2 Fan.
This fan has high static pressure and low noise output which makes it a perfect partner for any AIO. even the ones that come with poor stock fans
All of this is controlled using NZXT CAM - an all in one control software suite that gives you control over speed and noise of the unit, not just the fan like most other AIOs, but the Pump also.
The X31 comes with a variable speed pump that operates its RPM depending on pre defined, or user set parameters.

The Kraken X31 is one of the first consumer closed loop coolers with an integrated variable speed pump. The state-of-the-art variable speed pump keeps noise to a minimum during use without sacri cing top end pump power.
In addition to the cutting edge hardware, our legacy Kraken Control software has been replaced by our all-new software suite, CAM. NZXT CAM allows you to control your Kraken X31’s fan speeds and other custom cooling settings through its Kraken+ module. CAM also supports multi-Kraken systems natively, allowing you to designate a Kraken as a CPU or GPU cooler and link the fan/pump performance to those specific components.
