For some reason avast is constantly reporting that it has blocked some sort of malware which, judging by the URL avast gives under more details, is coming from one of my extensions.

This is the URL it gives. Obviously don't click it :p

hxxp://72.52.10.14/extensions/chrome_manifest.xml?os=win&arch=x86&nacl_arch=x86-64&prod=chromecrx&prodchannel=stable&prodversion=38.0.2125.111&lang=en-GB&x=id%3Dmnfjllonfacedobmmplocpoapmhpfjaf%26v%3D0.6.6%26

I've run malwarebytes and that picked up nothing of importance (for some reason malwarebytes thinks that my DLC unlocker for burnout paradise is a potentially unwanted program, but thats all it found). I then ran Avast and it seemed to think my install of an old A level biology text book supplement was incredibly dangerous but that was all it found. I let it deal with that anyway since I'm not going to use it again. I've also tried clearing all cookies/history/whatever from chrome.

After all that I am still getting the problem with avast constantly picking up that is has blocked malware, even for really common sites like imgur.com). The only chrome extensions I have are adblock+, speed dial and the imgur extension. I do have the OcUK shopping cart viewer, but that is disabled.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Obviously I don't want to report it as a false positive just in case it isn't one

when does this appear? does it come up when you load IE\chrome or does it appear all the time regarding if you have a browser open or not?

It will sometimes appear when I go to a new webpage in chrome. I haven't really been keeping track, but I would say about 25-50% of the time. I also haven't tried any other browsers so I'll see if it pops up in IE later. I haven't tried with chrome closed for any length of time
