Avast blocking 'Vulnerable Drivers' at every boot up?

Hi,

I've been using Avast (the free version) for years with no real issues. But recently, every single time I boot the PC up a message pops up saying 'Avast blocked a vulnerable driver' - its always a .tmp file with a random number. I've ran full scans with Avast, Malwarebytes and SAS and the system is clean. But Avast insists on blocking these temp files at each and every boot up.

It's only recently started doing this after an update to the program itself and definitions. Is anyone else getting this? From a quick Google there appears to be a few folk out there reporting similar issues.

It's time to stop using Avast. I was a strong user back in the 7 and earlier days but it went downhill once it started adding unnecessary things. Windows Defender is good enough to use these days.

Thanks guys, I'll go with Windows Defender then and get rid of Avast.

I assume Defender has similar shield capabilities and threat detection ability for not only potential file based threats but web based ones too? Does it do malware as well or will I need to use something like SAS or Malware Bytes for that?

Sorry for what may be obvious questions but I've never paid much attention to Defender in the past!

It has real time protection so yes, not just file based stuff. Malware is also covered.
