Hi all i usually use AVG but having problems with it i have heard that Avast is good does anyone use it and does it have all the features that AVG has like firewall and anti virus and spyware etc all in one pakage really
Avast Free is just antivirus really (one year licence you keep renewing). You have to pay if want Avast suite package that includes firewall and some other marketing ticked features.
I would download the 30 day trial to see if you like the interface, as it's not the most streamlined and intuitive.
its the pro version i was thinking of getting does it have spyware and firewall and anti virus and identity protection and anti rootkick etc and all the others that AVG has ?
If you want Avast to include firewall, then it's the top package - Avast Internet Security you need to consider. But for the money Avast charge I wouldn't bother. Especially as I wasn't that sold on it after trying a trial of the package against cheaper or free alternatives.
However, I'm a big fan of Avast Free which is an antivirus only package (might include limited malware protection too, not read up on it for a while).
Avast have been brilliant for me. I don't get any false positives but it depends from person to person on what they download. I use the free version as Windows Firewall is good enough for me. It has an auto scanner anyway so it pretty much acts like a firewall.
Avast and AVG seems to be the top free best ones, Kaspersky 2011 is a brilliant one to use too apparantly but obviously that's not free .
