Avast + Sandybride

Has anyone with a Sandybridge setup use Avast Antivirus

every time I seem to install Avast Free Home Edition, when my system is starting up it kind of hangs at the desktop with the cursor going in a circle

I don't know if its a compatibility thing or a software conflict

Btw system is fully stable & rock solid, were taking 12hrs prime etc...

every time I uninstall it, the system is fine

I have reformatted about 3 times now

lastly have used the system for 2 days perfectly then installed Avast, rebooted and bang! ... and the dirt is gone .... erm I mean same problem as before

I dont think its a software conflict, just this new Avast not playing ball

(I've also tried my system at stock with the same issues)

Uh, you've reinstalled three times?

Try another AV?

Yep mate it's working great, just avast is baffling, anyone with a sandybridge using avast?

I'm not fobbing you off mate, but you'd be better off asking at the Avast Forum. Not only will there be more specific experience there, but the devs actually post there so they can actually solve the issue at software level if needed.
