Today i had a pop up from avast saying a threat had been detected and said 'Mal' so guessing that means malware in one of the boxes (can't remember exact details) but it had a web address. So i ran a scan on the PC through avast, nothing. I ran Malware bytes again nothing. It popped up again about 1 hour ago. I haven't done anything over the past week apart from come onto this website, EK's website, Fakebook and play games. So i have no idea where it's come from.

Is there anything that i can run to find it? If it pops up again i'll get a screenshot.

Ahh it used the accessibility functions and spoke to you! ;)

Can you not view the logs or alerts then to tell us what it complained of?

I don't know where i can find such information. I have had a look through avast and cannot seem to find anything.

Edit:

It just popped up, it says blocked so avast is doing it's job but how can i get it to stop!?

sam just look at the link I posted.

It is basically the security software stopping (blocking) the website from running - hence it cannot be local to your machine as it never entered it. It has been blocked at source and warned you about the page that is all.

As above, it's just letting you know it has blocked it so it doesn't even touch your PC. It's a handy way of letting you know what sites to avoid.

I think the problem here is that it's svchost.exe that's trying to connect to that address and not a web browser which although I'm not 100% sure shouldn't be happening.

I would suggest if you haven't done already and if it's possible do a boot time scan as whatever it is that's doing that might be concealing itself from any and all scanners.

I did look but to be honest, didn't read that part. Just looked at how to remove it.

Thanks guys :)

I've already done this a few times.
