what the average easily achievable overclocks on air and water for the core2 duo 6600/6700/6800?
trying to decide which processor to get.
also whats the best mobo and ram specs for the 6800??same as for 6600/6700??

that thread is fine if you just want to check out the e6600.there is only one for the 6800 and none for the 6700 and the 6800 clock was very concervative.

I would say everyone or almost everyone is getting 3ghz on air on stock voltage with E6600's

Got my Week 28 E6600 hundred today. Spe is in Signature.

Paired the 6600 with an Arctic Freezer 7 and she's clocking well. 3.2 bootable @ 1.35v, RAM @ 4.4.4.12 1:1. 3.4ghz @ 1.4v for benching and with a 7950gx2 @ 570/700 scored just under 38000 in £dMark03, and 15.5k in 3dMark05. SuperPi 1m was sub 15 seconds.

Quickest chip I've ever seen. I think she'll be good for 3.6 @ 1.5*v on air...

Not seen temps go above 35 under full load so far when stressing both core (CPU at 100%)

I'd read the week 28's, Batch A*** were good, but this is amazing. 1000+mhz overclock. Never done that with an AMD...well, until I hit 3.655ghz with a phased cooled FX55 Sandy ! :) But then that was a special chip too !

As with any overclocking, there are no guarantees... you'd have to be very very unlucky not to get a good overclocking E6600 tho as the differences between them tends to be up in the 4+gig region - which you wouldn't be running them at for every day use.
