Hello everyone!

After spending 2 month to trying out everything to understand why my new PC have random shutdowns with no BSOD's or any warnings i came to RAM issues now. First i was blaming the PSU and u can see that in this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18486754

My actual PC specs: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=23500839&postcount=6696

so nothing gave my any result so i started to test RAM ind there we are:
First i tested all 4 DIMM's and had errors. Then i started to test every DIMM in every slot 16 tests together. I have spent 3 days on it. 3 DIMMS gave me no errors at all even on up to 8 hour testing period but my 3rd DIMM gave me errors in slots A2, B1 and B2 instantly after 2 minutes of testing. For some surprise there are no errors in slot A1 and at the moment when i am typing it is testing already 3hours 55 mins
what you think i should ask for RMA?

This picture is from first test with all 4 DIMMS. 1st dimm in slot A2, 2nd DIMM in slot B2, 3rd DIMM in slot A1, 4th DIMM in slot B1 - i numbered them for easier testing.

this picture is combined from all 16 seperate tests. To see more detailed open the link below and see those pictures apart in larger size.

Now it is going even more strange. That module giving me errors when i tested it single now have 7 passes and no errors in 7 hour test in pair with another module. How it can be that when i test it alone it gives me errors in 20 seconds and tested in pair works fine?

Well done testing all the combinations.
At least you know that one of the modules may be causing the problems. I have to say however that this sort of behaviour (shutting down without warning) is not typical for memory problems and my first bet would be PSU or mobo.

I was worried about PSU but it handles 3 hour stress test with ease and much more as you can see in the link where i wrote about concerns about my PSU.

My worst nightmare will be if thats the MoBo. I dont know what to do now, i bought everything from Overclockers but if i don't know which hardware is giving me the problem i can not RMA it.

About memory problem - from my experience that can be bad RAM module as well. But this behavior makes me think even more that this can be the MoBo.

Bios is up to date, CMOS is reseted dozens of times, If this is memory controller then there is no options left..

Mate. First thing, if you returned back this motherboard to Asus service as RMA: they would answer MEMORY IS NOT COMPATIBLE.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/P8Z77-V_DELUXE/P8Z77-V_DELUXE-memory-QVL.pdf

So before guys would work on slots, motherboard, or memory sticks - first of all is to put compatible memory stick on your mobo. Try this and don't forget about MemoryQVL in the future, it's An Asus ;-)

Thank you for your answer. I have seen that QVL list and yes i forgot it's an ASUS!!! The only thing i can do is put that memory in another build, HTPC or whatever and buy one from QVL list.

BTW i have built 3 PC with same MoBo 1 V AND 2 V-DELUXE and their owners are Happy like pigs, they have no problem at all and RAM installed is not from QVL list either. For official complaint or RMA thats not an argument of course.

So at the moment i have changed PSU for Brand new OCZ power series 650w which i have bought for my friends build and testing with my rig for 9 hours now. And there we have the results:

SO the problem is not a PSU i am afraid but it is MoBo, RAM or CPU related.
I will test my setup with Samsung green RAM and two different PSU's ocz Power series 650w and My Seasonic 860w '80 Plus Platinum' Modular PSU. If there will be no improvements i will buy RAM from ASUS QVL list ( stupid, but no choice) and then test it further.

Any another ideas are highly welcome.

Thank You!

I put new Samsung green RAM 8gigs and tested with new OCZ Power Series 650w PSU and everything seems to be fine. 16 hour testing and 15 PASSes:

Now im testing the same Samsung RAM with My PSU to see is my PSU causing problem or not.

So its almost clear that AVEXIR RAM is not compatible with my ASUS MoBO or the RAM is simply BAD!!!

My pc was running for 2 days with Samsung green RAM with no read/ write errors and no critical shutdowns. I found errors in event viewer just right before system shutdowns. They were Aicharger plus related. I have uninstalled all ASUS useless and buggy software only fanexper2 left. I hoped that maybe at last i found the issue but today i had 2 critical shutdowns again.

Now i tried last thing i could imagine. I switched my Seasonic PSU hybrid mode to normal mode - it might be the issue as well but i am not sure anymore.

I am out of ideas guys!
