When these kits arrived at OCUK I was keen to get one in the test Rig and see how it performed both in terms of Overclocking and Performance. The configuration here is 2 x 4gb Dual Channel so should clock well.

For me looks are very important when using within high end systems that I might design. The orange strobe LED on this kit makes it stand out and look great in any of the Gigabyte OC series of boards.

The XMP for the sticks worked flawlessly in both ASUS and Gigabyte boards tested with which where the Hero, MVIE and OC. It was mem test and prime blend stable without much adjustment at all.

Lets get down to the nitty gritty!! straight onto some air overclocking with results of DDR 3120mhz on Z87 Haswell. The top divider memory divider on Haswell is 2933mhz. Enable the 1.25 strap for 3000 to be comfortably available.

I then took the sticks to sub zero temps see how far they could be pushed . The results from this where DDR3763 an overclock of over 20% on sticks that are already at XMP achieving very high frequency.

I posted this result on HWbot and as you can see from the below screen shot. The Avexir sticks are in the top 14 memory frequency's ever achieved.

I then looked at performance at XMP first. I knew that because of the high Mhz not much tuning was going to be available to me on air. The AIDA benches still looking impressive at XMP with the system again being mem test and Super Pi32m stable.

Next I tuned the sticks at 2800mhz again a frequency only really available on air and water to Haswell users but if you have a high end Haswell rig the sticks performed great. C11 being possible at 2800 without voltage increase above 1.65v. C11 gives Aida and Super Pi a healthy boost!!!

Being impressed with the flexibility of these sticks for both the highest end gamer and serious overclocker I though I would test at 2600mhz too so as to make sure should a Z77 user want a great looking set of performance Orange Strobe RAM they could choose these and still get performance at the limits of Ivy IMC. At 2600mhz this memory did C10 comfortably at low volts of 1.65v.

As you can see the memory was Super Pi stable, it also completed mem test at these frequency's and timings. AIDA bench again looking good for the speed and tuning with the volts applied.

I have enjoyed my time with this kit. Its XMP is flawlessly set up to ensure compatibility for plug and play high end Z87 users. For the power user who likes to tune it both overclocks at high mhz and can be setup to give performance at slightly lower speeds. For sure its not the absolute mega performance of PSC or BBSE for example but these sticks need cold and lots of volts to hit such heights. The Hynix MFR on these sticks is designed for RAW overclocking after all.

This Avexir would also be an option for Z77 users with top end gaming/ encoding/ editing rigs who want quality RAM and feel they need the Orange strobe look in there case which I must admit does look great.

If you demand the absolute best performance and looks within your system then this certainly is one of the top few kits around. For sure its expensive but the hero products usually are.
