Since AVG updated yesterday there have been a lot of problems (check their forum), mine wasn't too bad a part from it warning me about certain sites but then giving me no choice to proceed or not.
The only fix I found was to reinstall AVG but not the Link Scanner option.
Other problems are install and uninstall problems, and a few more besides.
Maybe it's time I changed, I looked at Avast and Avira in the past but I just don't feel right using them.
