Hi can somone point me in the right direction of a good (FREE) anti virus program as AVG is on its way out thanks Ben

On its way out? if its what im thinking a popup box appers when you start your pc telling you to update AVG due to a new version, all you simply have to do is go to the free grisoft website and download the newest version, unistall the old AVG install the new one and your good to go :p

I was understanding that they were canciling the free version sorry to mess around thanks for the link to ANDARIAL

Yea it stumped me the first time I saw the message a good 3mths back, It wasnt till I read it fully. It just simply states the old AVG is no longer being updated, probally due to the fact the new one is vista compatable.

Edit have you tried this link AVG Free from download.com

Corrupt files? isnt it a .exe file with no extraction needed?

Yeah i got the pop up box about AVG stopping sometime this month, and to update it to AVG 7.5 as thats the free one now. :)

as i said i have tried to download from the site and it says file corrupt

mrbgod the link I provide above is from download.com not the grisoft website, it is a slightly older version but it is the new version if you get what I mean :P so it shouldnt give you the same problem.

If it does theres almost something certainly not right with you pc, I can run & install the download fine.

and it is free?no 30 day trial etc?

Avast is Totally free and an Excellent AVG.
I have used it for over a year with not one single problem.
Highly recommended by me.
