Can someone point me to the best avi codec for windows Xp

Seem to be having problems using K lite, the sync is terrible. All was fine for months until last night, not sure what is going on..

Or you could just use VLC which does not need codecs as they are all built in. Plus it uses very little ram, I have always used it and never had any problems.

ffdshow is the only codec I have installed. I haven't come across an avi that has failed to play due to a codec issue.

I used to use K lite but I found not everything played or it caused stability problems with my system.
