As title really wasn't sure what forum to place this in.

But I need a avi - dvd converter. Tried cucu free trail but it turned the top of screen green

I have a feeling it may be codecs I have.

What codecs do people use

Thanks for looking

I use DVD Santa to convert to AVI's to DVD, dead easy to use, and it asks if you wnat to burn it when its finished. :)

Codecs, i have the CCCP pack on (Combined Community Codec Pack), and ive never found nothing i can't play yet with those. :)

svcd2dvd is a great app. never faile don me after 150+ dvds, great tool, its not free but its only $10 for lifetime updates t the newest version.

well worth it

Try WinAvi for ease of use or Tmpeg or CCE if you want better results. As for codecs I use Koepi's Xvid Binaries, AC3 Filter and DivX. Also use the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.

I'll vouch for this app too, very easy to use. Alternatively in the (extremely rare) event that it doesnt work with a file, I will use WinAvi.

Both are much easier than the long winded guides you find on the net which involve several different programs.

mainconcept mpeg encoder (not free i dont think?, but is fast - similar to realtime) to convert to MPEG2 then cucusoft to parse it into vob files, nero to burn.

90 min film can be done in 115 minutes on a not too special system...

Which app for the greatest quality, has to be ease of use also, I've got winavi and its easy to use and quick but the quality is argueable.

This is where the Cinema Craft Encoder fanboys come in.
