AVI Edit software

I have an Avi video and i want to edit it, I just want to snip bits from it if poss.

Can any of you guys recomend and basic software, tried windows movie thing but i did not like it. lol

Pinnacle Studio 10

As said, Pinnacle studio is good (versions 7,8 or 10).

Great software , easy to use with excellent results .

But $loth , whats wrong with version 9 .I've used this version for a couple of years with no problems , no dropped frames in capture or anything like that. I've heard of a few folk using Version 10 and have had a few issues with it.

I haven't used it, the previous versions i've only used briefly but had no problems.

I'm guessing it would be fine for what the OP needs, but I can't say without using it
