Hi everyone .. i need some help with avi to dvd converting..i did use nero for converting avi to dvd but now i use win 7 nero wont convert .. i use ConvertXtoDVD 4 but some films are very pixely..someone told me about dvdfab but i use it for about 3 days and nearly every film i converted my dvd player says read error ..any recomendations on another program plz...John
 
windows dvd maker is built in...but it takes an age to convert stuff unless you change the cpu priority. Start>all programs>Windows DVD Maker
 
If you are using Windows 7 then Windows DVD Maker can do this. (You may need to download an avi codec for it but there are plenty of threads about this elsewhere on the web). I don't know if it is also available for Vista and XP but it is worth looking in to
 
windows dvd maker is free for vista but not available for xp. avi is a container so codecs might need to be downloaded

What res are the AVI's you're trying to convert and what size is the screen you're putting them on? Make sure the convert is set to high quality too, like mentioned in the other post.
 
I got Aneesoft DVD creator from giveawayoftheday.com, it can import different video formats like AVI, MP4, WMV, FLV, etc. for outputting to home movie DVDs directly, as well as create DVD folders and ISO image files.
So far, works fine for me.
