OK.

I now know how to convert AVI to DVD using WinAVI Video Converter.

What I need to know now however is, is there a way to join two AVI files together?

I have some two bits of video footage that I want to join to make one, before burning to a DVD.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Using Google, I found VirtualDub which I tried to use.

Each time I try, regardless of what the avi files are I get the following, which means nothing to me:
VirtualDub Error

Couldn't locate decompressor for "DX50" (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

Anyone know what all this is about?

I think someone mentioned that you need to install the latest version of divx5, ffdshow and ogg. Well, install one at a time and see does it work but I did hear that you really need the latest version of ffdshow so install it first.

I don;t know what any of that stuff is or means :o sorry....

Yes it does but the two videos must be of the same nature/format I think.

I did it yesterday but for some reason it keeps mixing the order of play for me i.e instead of the DVD being Video1-Video2-Video3, it creates the image in order Video3-Video2-Video1 etc.

I tried it. It's created dvd_0 and dvd_1 with a separate AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS for each :(

Not what I expected would happen.

I guess there's no way I can but this to a DVD?
