AVI to DVD

I have a few AVI's that I'd like to convert to DVD, I have Nero which I can do this with but I was wondering if anybody knew of any applications which can encode it faster? Preferably free.

I don't think there are any free programs or faster ones than nero, nero has pretty poor encoding quality though.

WINAVI, best ive found regarding speed & quality...

TMPEG Enc & Virtual Dub if your more bothered about quality

WinAvi is quick but it is'nt free. There are many app's with varying degrees of speed and quality. I would start by looking at VCDHelp

great app. comes with a free encoder

can set it when you install to avi to dvd. once setup it works great

dvd2svcd is great but not as quick as winavi. How quick are you wanting it to convert? dvd2svcd is an excellent program though and gives flawless results everytime. What spec is the system your encoding on?

nero is damn slow for me. win avi is great though, i'd suggest buying it if you want to do a lot of files.

anyway, my system is core duo 6600 at 3.2 ghz

if you use the cinemacraft encoder it encodes at 6x the speed! :eek:
